Witches Aren't Wooses

Patty asks:
i'm thinking of a break up spell for my son and his wife. i realize that sounds evil but i have their son due to their own horrible deprivation. i've had him for 3 years his entire life. they are trying to get him back. but they havent changed. what they will do to this child is mind blowing. i don't want any evil back on me it's for the baby's protection only.
thank you

And MiShala asks:
A dear friend of mine gave me your book on Power Spells & suggested we try a few to see what type of results we would get. At this point we have only done spells that would primarily be on ourselves (i.e. Banish Fear of Success). However, a lady told us that if we did the Open Scissor spell it would come back on us 3-fold. Is this true? I've had fantastic success with the few spells I've done & want to thank you, but I'm encountering some real problem people in my life. So before proceeding forward, thought I would ask what you would recommend?
Thank you again for all of the good your work has done for our lives. Wish you the best!

Witch Dr answers:
Although these situations are different, the questions are basically the same. Patty and MiShala want to know if they will recieve bad karma for doing a spell to hinder another or to break up others. In these cases and other situations, often a spell seems negative but it is being used for the purpose of protection. Witches are ALLOWED to protect themselves and even encouraged to do so. Of course if you view what you are doing as evil, then the unconscious will accept it as such and you will probably end up punishing yourself in one way or another. You must approach these rituals with strength and the positive intention of protecting yourself or others (in one of these cases she is attempting to protect a helpless child)! In this way, you will create a 3 fold or perhaps even 10 fold return of protection for yourself. The law of return is always in effect and will reflect upon whatever energies we send out. As long as you keep the emphasis and intention on protection and shielding of yourself and your loved ones, you will not be harmed. Good luck and good magick.

Mellow Yellow on Manic Monday #4

Yellow is the color of the Sun. It represents warmth, stability, fame, long lasting love, health, and happiness. Yellow can also be used in visualization to energize and calm fears. Like the Sun, it burns away the 'greyness' of the day. Yellow is also a fun color and sacred to Bast the Egyptian cat goddess. Yellow is the color of intellect and can help improve your memory. A yellow candle can be burned with prayers (or magic seals) to bring forth any of the above mentioned qualities. Best day to burn yellow candles is on Sundays and Wednesdays.

Incase you don't know about this, Mo of It's a Blog Eat Blog World is running this meme. Check out his site on Sunday nights to see the word of the week for Manic Monday. It's a great way to connect with other bloggers as well as a creative incentive to write. (Yellow is also the color of inspiration!)

Retrograde Reports

Well here's word from our favorite Chic Geek who tells of some progress and then a step back, and then perhaps some hope again of moving forward. Anyone else noticing something to this effect? We'll discuss it below.

Hi Lexa,
Well I preformed the spell and it turns out I would have gotten the job but then head office made them transfer in someone from another store who was threatening to quit unless he was moved to another store closer to his home. Then a week later my best friend who already works there got a promotion to assistant manager so now she has a say in hiring. I'm not losing hope just yet. So it may still happen cause as I have learned with spells you never know when or how they are going to work sometimes. Thanks for the spell.
The Chic Geek

Dear CG and readers
The Planet Mercury went retrograde on Feb 13th and will continue its backwards motion until March 7th. When Mercury goes retrograde, there are communication problems. How many of you out there broke up with your boyfriend or girlfriend just before, on, or after Valentine's day? How many lost a check in the mail or had travel complications? How many thought something was going to happen right away and then some missing piece of information popped up and caused a delay? Computer glitches, anyone? These events are all typical of a Mercury retrograde. Hang tight because it's almost over.

Also be aware that Jupiter will go retrograde on April 6th. This will occur for a longer time period (until Aug 14th). However Jupiter does not create as much havoc as Mercury. His backward motion will however make your long term goals seem farther out of reach. Advisory note: between March 8 and and April 6th, we'll all want to push hard to further our goals and dreams along. This is an incredible green light time with no holds barred. Shall I remind you again when it is closer to hand? Ok, then. Someone please make a note to remind me to do that and I will elaborate and provide a spell as well. Blessed Be.

What the World Needs Now is Love Sweet Love [PPP]

A new client came to see me for a tarot reading and a soulmate candle. She told me she had paid an outrageous amount to join an online dating service. So far, she hadn't met anyone through that site. I need to raise my rates, but that's another story. I'm here to tell you about this absolutely FREE online dating service. They don't even ask for a credit card. (I hate all those "free" offers that ask for your credit card before awarding any prizes!) This site offers all the features of a paid dating site and they want to help spread free love to the world. Now who could say no to that!

Magical (Manic) Monday #4 Celebrate!

This week begins with many festive events. It is a new moon and the Chinese New Year of the prosperous pig. Tomorrow is the culmination of Mardi Gras, a festival celebrated around the world that finds its roots in the ancient pagan Roman holiday of Lupercalia (and also influenced by Saturnalia). Along with celebrating the great God Pan and his Satyrs, Bacchus and Venus, today we are also celebrating the
morgEpalooza or 40th birthday of fellow blogger Morgen of It's a Blog Eat Blog World. Mo actually started this Manic Monday meme and if you would like to participate, visit his blog every Sunday to find the word of the week. That's right, this week it is celebrate! Well, MO and all you birthday boys and girls, we witches have our own special traditions for solar returns. Instead of blowing out a candle and making a wish, we LIGHT a candle and make a birthday wish. It is also customary to eat sunflower seeds - 3x the number of your age to grant you good health and long life! While we're at it, let's take a look at Mo's day today. Below are his personal astrological transits. The transits refer to the current movement of the planets. By looking at how they interact with our own planets, we can see a unique astrology reading for each and every one of us. This is much more thorough than the astrology you read in the paper or online that is based on your Sun sign alone.

Mo's Transits Feb 19, 2007

Transit SUN conjoined natal Sun
Congratulations, MO! It is the beginning of another birthday year for you. Since the planetary patterns influencing your life and affairs will be different in any given year you do not always have the same feelings and attitudes every time your birthday rolls around. No matter what the circumstances happen to be however, you can take advantage of the positive potential of each birthday by making it a special time for renewing inner energy and vitality, and your faith in yourself as an individual. Reflect on what the past has taught, look forward to where you would like to be in the future, and above all, adopt the attitude and determination that you will meet and overcome every challenge that the future holds.

Transit Mars sextile natal Neptune
This is a period to look for opportunities that expand your spiritual and artistic awareness and allow you to develop and use your intuitive abilities. Taking advantage of the people and situations you encounter under this influence, may lead to more mundane opportunities including a chance to go swimming, fishing, sailing, or dancing. Depending on your particular interests and the nature of circumstances at this time, your efforts may mean eventual success in activities that involve such areas as promotion, photography, magic, illusion, oil or gas industries, charitable institutions, bankruptcy proceedings, art and entertainment. The only problem you encounter during this period may be in distinguishing genuine opportunities from false or misleading promises. Be as astute as you can under the circumstances.

Transit MARS opposed natal Jupiter
It is easy to imagine the probable result of blowing up a balloon beyond its capacity. This image is also the easiest description of the circumstances you are likely to encounter during this period. There is a tendency to assume you are capable of far greater abilities than a more honest estimation would suggest-- or, knowing full well your real limitations, it may be a case of your simply giving in to some external pressure or temptation and allowing others to make such inflated assumptions of your capabilities-- either way, you are left trying to accomplish the impossible. Under this influence actions are likely to go too fast and too far. It is in your best interests to remember that there is more than a little potential for unpleasant results if you experience too much of a good thing. This is not an auspicious time for court decisions, traveling abroad, higher education, writing, publishing, and participating in competitive sports. Physical efforts are either totally paralyzed by laziness and unwise actions, or they proceed with such extreme force as to invite dangerous consequences. Spirituality can turn into fanaticism, and intellectuality can become arrogant displays of superiority. Save grandstanding and bravado for another time.

Transit VENUS conjoined natal Saturn
It can be difficult to admire beauty for its own sake during this period. It isn’t that you lack appreciation for the things or people that catch your eye. It is more likely to be a case of also realizing there are responsibilities and commitments that accompany these attractive visions. Under this influence you are most appreciative of beauty that is traditional, structured, and orderly, or perhaps it’s just your appreciation for the intrinsic harmony of tradition, structure and order that is enhanced. If not ordinarily inclined to lead a neat or organized existence, this may be one time when you appreciate the necessity of having some order in your life. Your participation in social events and fun activities is apt to be more enthusiastic if they happen to serve some purpose in addition to the prospect of enjoyment; a combination of business and pleasure. If there is no one new you care to meet and nothing you care to do, you may prefer to either remain alone or in the company of those who do have a purpose in your life.

Transit SUN trine natal Moon
Circumstances promote pride and emotional satisfaction in home, children, and other family members. Female relationships are particularly meaningful, and a woman may provide valuable assistance. Under this influence your emotional level is high, and your intuition right on target. An excellent time to initiate artistic and other creative activities, get started with domestic projects, and enthusiastically take care of any matters that are related to children, women, or a new venture. Disappointments that do occur under this influence are apt to have a way of eventually working out to your advantage.

Transit PLUTO square natal Saturn
This long-term influence is likely to bring difficult but not insurmountable circumstances, the nature of which involves overcoming those with more power than your own, situations that involve a new start or regaining something that was lost, or dealing with the threatened loss of your own power or influence. The past becomes significantly important to the present as well as the future. If you refused to accept the necessary restrictions and limitations that were necessary for progress to be made, this becomes a time to regret your past resistance and correct your attitude. Self-discipline plays a major role. Abuse of authority in the past will have to be confronted and corrected. Ambitions must be tempered with patience and control. Obstacles may challenge your right to the rewards of age and experience, hard work and sacrifice, and the traditions and structures that support your life-style.

Transit SUN trine natal Mars
The positive energy and vitality that accompanies this influence favors all your physical efforts, the only drawback being that it also promotes a tendency for laziness. Lacking sufficient aggressiveness or the competitive spirit, you may see no necessity for taking advantage of favorable circumstances that are at hand. Avoiding the potential for indolence or a too passive attitude will net ample dividends. Superiors are impressed with your work. Male relationships and dealing with men or masculine products are favored. An excellent time to get a hair cut, attend or participate in sporting events, engage in open confrontation. If other factors do not negate the fortunate influence of this period, this is the best time to undergo surgery or dental work.

Transit MARS sextile natal Venus
Opportunities that may lead to romance, social activities, partnership, and joint ventures are potentials implied by this period. There is no guarantee that such potentials will automatically come your way. Success is more likely to be the result of deliberately putting yourself in situations that generate such opportunities. This favorable influence encourages you to help others attain their goals, and in return, you will be able to ask for their assistance in your own efforts. Legal matters, contract negotiations, enhancement of your physical appearance, and artistic projects may eventually be successful as a result of opportunities offered by present circumstances.

Go and visit the celebrated Mo today and wish him a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Dumped!

Dear Readers
I have received another email from KW. Some of you may remember her Dilemma. Here is the latest report.
Message: My partner, J with whom I own a condominium with has left me for another woman! Remember I wrote to you about my ex-husband and you did a reading on your blog? Well she left. What should I do? Is it worth trying to get her back (we've been off and on for 10 years) 2 years on - 3 off - 5 on and now this! I've been crazy and I don't know if it's fear of the unknown; fear that she will screw me or really that I do care about her. We haven't been getting along but my brother attempted suicide last year and I've been numb to the relationship. I don't think she will want to go to counseling. And I know she is smoking alot of pot. Help!

KW
somehow I am not surprised at this news. Your partner, J has her moon conjunct Neptune right smack on her ascendant. What does this mean? Aside from being in a constant fog, it also indicates that she is extremely intuitive and she picked up on your plans to leave and beat you to the punch. Also remember that she is Taurus with Scorpio rising. She freaks without emotional/financial security and when that's threatened, her stingers come out. You are also Scorpio rising but she is 2 degrees earlier in the sign which makes her quicker on the draw.

According to the Tarot, this may be a blessing in disguise. One of the things the Tarot points out is that this is not the FIRST TIME she has been unfaithful to you. Her leaving has been your secret wish, so why not let her go and make room for someone better? Pay attention though as she is not beneath screwing you over financially. However, I may be picking up on something else. A business partner or family member that you have unresolved financial issues with. I suggest burning green and blue candles anointed with rosemary oil to protect your income, property and inheritance.

You had asked in an earlier post if your ex husband would ever leave his current wife. Doubtful, but even if he does, that doesn't mean it will work for the two of you. You had also asked which would bring you a more fulfilling relationship. My answer is NEITHER ONE!

The Tarot points out that the REAL issue here is not with J or your ex husband. It is with your brother. You will need to make a decision before the summer about how to deal with him. You cannot do it alone. Another family member or perhaps an institution will need to step in and take some of this burden off your hands. You are not equipped emotionally or financially to handle it. You are going to go on a trip and then I see a younger man or a sweet butch, probably a Pisces coming into your life. The Tarot encourages you to let go of the past and make room for this wonderful new beginning.

An added personal thought: It sounds like you've had more than your share of grief, mourning, and disappointment in the past year. You are in the long hard winter of your life. Be aware that this weekend is the New Moon, the Chinese New Year and the Mardi Gras. There are other cultures as well that have celebratory holidays in this season. It is time to throw off the shackles of winter and welcome the Spring. (even if it hasn't yet arrived!) Let loose, throw on your party beads and DANCE! Find SOMETHING to celebrate in your life. If you can do this, you will align yourself with the seasonal energies and be able to throw off the cold and desolate that surrounds you. It may seem as if she's DUMPED you, but this could just as easily be your window of opportunity to dump your bad luck and unhappiness for a better
life. Welcome the unknown, I believe it will be more fulfilling than all your knowns!

Story of St. Valentine

"The story of Valentine's Day begins in the third century with an
oppressive Roman emperor and a humble Christian Martyr. The emperor was Claudius II.
Valentine was a priest in Rome at the time Christianity was a new religion. The Emperor Claudius II, ordered the Roman soldiers NOT to marry or become engaged. Claudius believed that as married men, his soldiers would want to stay home with their families rather than
fight his wars. Valentine defied the Emperor's decree and secretly married the young couples.
Claudius had ordered all Romans to worship twelve gods, and had made it a crime punishable by death to associate with Christians. But Valentine was dedicated to the ideals of Christ; not even the threat of death could keep him from practicing his beliefs. He was eventually arrested, and imprisoned.
During that time of Valentine's life a remarkable thing happened. Seeing that he was a man of learning, the jailer asked whether his daughter, Julia, might be brought to Valentine for lessons. She had been blind since birth. Julia was a pretty young girl with a quick mind. Valentine read stories of Rome's history to her. He described the world of nature to her. He taught her arithmetic and told her about God. She saw the world through his eyes, trusted his wisdom, and found comfort in his quiet strength.
"Valentine, does God really hear our prayers?" Julia asked one day. "Yes, my child, He hears each one." "Do you know what I pray for every morning and every night? I pray that I might see. I want so much to see everything you've told me about!" "God does what is best for us if we will only believe in Him," Valentine said. "Oh, Valentine, I do believe! I do!" She knelt and grasped his hand. They sat quietly together, each praying. Suddenly there was a brilliant light in the prison cell. Radiant, Julia screamed, "Valentine, I can see! I can see!"
"Praise be to God!" Valentine exclaimed, and he knelt in prayer. On the eve of his death Valentine wrote a last note to Julia, urging her to stay close to God. He signed it, "From your Valentine." His sentence was carried out the next day, February 14, 270 A.D., near a gate that was later named Porta Valentini in his memory. He was buried at what is now the Church of Praxedes in Rome. It is said that Julia planted a pink-blossomed almond tree near his grave. Today, the almond tree remains a symbol of abiding love and friendship. On each February 14, Saint Valentine's Day, messages of affection, love, and devotion are exchanged around the world." Valentine was beheaded on February 14th, the eve of the Roman holiday Lupercalia. After his death, Valentine was named a saint. As Rome became more Christian, the priests moved the spring holiday from the 15th of February to the 14th - Valentine's Day. Now the holiday honored Saint Valentine instead of Lupercus.*

This great story was sent to my by friend and fellow psychic Louis.
Louis is available for Tarot cards, Tea Leaves, Flower Readings and Handwriting Analysis.
He is New Yorks' #1 Professional Flower Reader. That sounds like a great kind of reading to get for Valentine's Day!

*As pagans, we will not forget the sacred fertility rites of Pan. Any woman wanting to conceive or ease the pain of childbirth must receive some lashes from a whip or scourge dipped in goat's milk.

Manic Monday #3 Spike and you may Strike Out.

Dear Witch Dr
Valentine's Day is coming up and I really like this guy. I read a spell in a book that said I could create a potion and mix it into his drink so that he will fall in love with me. Right now we are just friends and he is well, kind of flirting with this other girl in our class. What should I do? And do you think that love potion thing will work?
Please HELP!
Valencia

Dear Valencia
As they say, all's fair in love and war but it's also best to play by the karmic rules of the game. These spells in which a drink or food is SPIKED are very common. In the old days, we even used to SPIKE a walkway or threshold by sprinkling powders that someone would walk across. But post 9/11 and the Anthrax scare, these things are not a good idea anymore. Also by SPIKING a drink with a love potion, you risk your magick backfiring. Suppose he doesn't drink it but passes it to someone else who you think is just absolutely retched! Yuck! Also, if he is strong willed, he may react adversely and begin to hate you. The best type of love magick is performed upon oneself. Here is an easy example: Take a bath in fresh oranges and mint leaves to increase your romantic allure. Or make a Love Shake in the blender by adding: 1/2 cup of milk, cup of spring water, 6 strawberries, a cored apple, three drops of vanilla extract, and crushed almonds. Drink this potion to attract attention from the person you desire and to knock out all competition. Another great spell is to take a bite from an apple and then offer it to the one your admire. If s/he takes a bite, it is a good sign that s/he will be yours. If the spell is sealed with a kiss within 24 hours, the love will be sure to last. Now you see, with this spell, you are giving your friend free will and free choice to accept or decline your offer of love.
Good luck and may Cupid's SPIKED arrow strike his heart with love for you.

Tarot Card Magick

Ruby writes:
Hi lexa
How are you, sis?
Say, I wonder what are the correspondences for drawing more clients to get tarot readings. I'm thinking the emperor card …but I'm not sure, never done a spell for that. What is working for you usually:)?
Thank you sweetheart
Ruby

Hey Bro
how the hell are you! I keep answering your emails and they keep bouncing back so I hope you read this here and leave me a comment! The Emperor is not a bad choice except that it is ruled by Jupiter and as you know Jupiter always makes MORE of what you have. That's great if your business is already booming but if you have ONLY A FEW or NO CLIENTS - be careful as Jupiter will make MORE of this abysmal situation! I actually have a spell for Tarot readers in my book TAROT POWER using the Wheel of Fortune. This is a great card as it can increase psychic ability as well as your financial fortune. Other good choices are The Empress, The High Priestess, The Magician, and of course our friend down below...

In conclusion, my dear Ruby, the best card I suggest you use is...

YOUR BUSINESS CARD

GIVE IT OUT WHERE EVER YOU GO!!!

You are The Devil

Materiality. Material Force. Material temptation; sometimes obsession

The Devil is often a great card for business success; hard work and ambition.

Perhaps the most misunderstood of all the major arcana, the Devil is not really "Satan" at all, but Pan the half-goat nature god and/or Dionysius. These are gods of pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. This is a card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. On the flip side, however, the card can be a warning to someone who is too restrained, someone who never allows themselves to get passionate or messy or wild - or ambitious. This, too, is a form of enslavement. As a person, the Devil can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive. This is not to say a bad man, but certainly a powerful man who is hard to resist. The important thing is to remember that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it.

Land of the Pharaohs [PPP]

*this is a payperpost advertisement...
please scroll down for more posts*

Here is a photo from Alexandria Egypt. What a dream come true to walk where Cleopatra ruled. Or to see the great pyramid of Giza or cruise down the Nile! The photo below is of Hieroglyphs in the Luxor Tomb. I would love to visit temples in Karnak and Luxor! Egypt also has great markets and beaches.

Drifting back to Manic Monday

The Aunt Clara Moment has passed. Here are the ingredients for the CONCENTRATION potion. Use to keep you focused on your tasks or whenever you want to stop the mind from drifting.
use equal parts:
Mastic
Cinnamon
Myrrh
This can be ground into a powder and kept in a bowl on your desk. If you use organic ingredients, you can also place under the tongue. It may also be burned as an incense on charcoal or made in oil form and used to anoint the third eye or a black candle.

Earlier I listed two ingredients that are actually part of a Master formula. (Ho, where was my mind DRIFTING?!) The THIRD INGREDIENT is Tongue of Dog or Deer's Tongue and before you go harming any animals, just HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!!! Deer's Tongue is an old Native American name for Wild Vanilla Grass. They call it that because the deer like to munch on it. You can find deer's tongue online or in a proper herb or occult shop. You can also substitute vanilla bean in the formula and that is very easily obtained in the market. The three ingredients are mixed together in equal parts and then used to dust the hands. It can also be made in oil form and used to anoint brown candles. The Master formula is great to use when you feel that opportunities are DRIFTING away from you! This potion brings confidence, luck and power in love and business matters. For the first two ingredients click here!

An astral travel tip: in order to avoid DRIFTING away into the void and land of no return, ALWAYS be sure to tie or anchor yourself before your journey. This is done by simply visualizing one end of a cord tied around your big toe and the other end tied around something physical in the room you are in. That way, you can always tug on the cord to safely return home.

I'm sorry - It's Manic Monday and I just had an Aunt Clara Moment

Dear Witch Dr.
I need a spell to stop DRIFTING. My mind is always out the window and I just can't focus on ANYTHING! I did really poorly on a test yesterday and I'm afraid my boss is going to let me go if I don't start paying attention to my work. Boy if I get fired and flunk out of school, then I'll really be a DRIFTER! I'm sure you get my drift and any help you can give will be appreciated before I DRIFT away.
thanks
Daffy DRIFTS

Dear DD
It sounds like you need some CONCENTRATION powder!
Mix equal parts:

patchouli leaves
brick dust
and o damn - it's late now and my own mind is starting to DRIFT.
I'll get back to you with the last ingredient tomorrow!

Happy Full Moon and Imbolc

Imbolc is one of the four greater Sabbats of the Witches. On Imbolc we ask the Goddess Bridgid to bring inspiration into our lives. It is also a Full Moon in Leo. Leo rules all matters of the heart. It is also the sign of theatre, showmanship, and being before the public eye. Here and now is the place and time to summon up your passion, creativity, and dramatic flair. Make a wish if you dare!
All witches know that on the Full Moon
the Goddess will grant us each a boon.
I have cast a circle on this post. It has been blessed and consecrated as a magickal space of power and all who leave their comments here shall be empowered by the Full Moon with strength and energy to help their dreams come true. By the power invested in me as priestess and witch I have hereby summoned stirred and called up the mighty ones of north, east, south, and west to bless and protect this circle post. I have invoked the power of the mighty oak to give those who enter here strength, endurance, and resolve. I have summoned the power of the willow for those seeking flexibility and change. Hail, the power of the green earth for those in need of healing, grounding, and material well being. Also the power of the mountains for those who seek protection, power, wisdom, and insight. Feel the power of the winds for those who seek intellect, inspiration, success, communication, friendship, and creativity. Behold, the power of fire to fulfill your strong desires, to excite and fan the flames of passion, and create more energy, ambition, and drive. Here is the power of the oceans for those seeking peace, a better flow, treasure, fertility, abundance, and love. Post your magickal wishes and goals for the Full Moon in the comments section before Feb 4 2007 and they will be granted by the Goddess. So mote it be and Blessed Imbolc!
