Chestnuts & Cloves remedy Global Economic Crisis

Dear Lexa Rosean,

I have read some of your books that where released here in Germany. A lot of your magical spells I am testing.

In one of your books you describe magic how to win a court case too.

I have to appear in court next month, because my ex boy friend steal a lot of money from me. He is a would-be lawyer and it seams that he will win the court case, because there are not any evidences that he has taken the money. Only what I have told the police is the reason, why we have to appear in court. I have given him money before too, because he informed me that he as problems and need money. He promises that he will give back the money as soon as possible. I never got the money back, that I have given him.

When I am going to court I need something that the public prosecutor and the jurist believe my version of the case. You wrote that I need therefore a chestnut. There is no chance to buy some chestnuts now in the supermarket, because first when it is fall, I can buy it here in Germany. Is there any chance to take something that has the same magic like a chestnut?

There is nothing that quite does the trick as well as chestnut so I would ask you to check if it is not possible to find canned chestnut stuffing in the market. If so, scoop some out on a spoon into a square of tinfoil. Fold up the tinfoil and gently carve a pentagram over the top of it and then carry in a pocket or purse when you go into the court room.

If this is not possible, you can use a mixture of rose, mint, and nutmeg. Can be oil or powdered dried herb/flower form. But with this, you would need to dust your hands and somehow touch your ex. (maybe you could shake his hand?) It forces liars to be exposed and/or come clean and ask for forgiveness. By touching him in the courtroom after you have dusted your hands with the potion, the prosecutor and jurist will be able to see through his lies. If you cannot touch him without raising suspicion or possible endangerment to yourself, then I recommend dusting a photo of him with the mixture on the night before your court date. You should also dust your hands with the powder in the morning before you go to court just in case you get an opportunity to safely touch him or even a chair that he will sit upon.

p.s. you should also chew 3 cloves and then spit them out while calling out his name and the amount of money he owes you. Repeat this 3 times. It is an old spell to collect debts.

OKRAnomic Magick

Does Okra due to its green color have any known Magickal attributes?

Thanks for the great question. Okra is a wonderful food & unfortunately an
oversite not to include in my book The Encyclopedia of Magickal Ingredients.
You are correct in calling attention to the green color of Okra. Many green colored foods (including Okra) can be worked with to draw fertility/prosperity. Seeded plants (such as grapes) are also used in money rituals and Okra contains white seeds which makes it especially good for cleansing and removing financial obstacles. Okra is one of the main staples of "soul food" and was also known as slave food. Unfortunately we are all (rich and poor), slaves to the current global economic problems and all of us could use a good infusion of Okra into our diets.

The fruit (vegetable) is also phallic shaped and that makes it a prime ingredient for sex magick. But perhaps the most magickal quality of "Gumbo" or Okra is it's texture. The uniquely sticky gooey characteristic that often turns folks off from eating it is exactly the reason why Okra yields such powerful spiritual benefits. Cook Okra in seafood gumbo for comfort, protection, and sustenance during hard times (regardless of the lunar cycle). It acts as a thickening agent on the spiritual level just as it does on the physical plane and will help to stretch whatever resources you have to cover your expenses until better times come along. It is good for getting jobs, money & financial opportunities to stick to you! Eat it on a new moon (and during waxing moon cycles) when looking for work or when you are freelancing and want to get return clients or referrals.

Okra is a member of the cotton family and has strong communication vibrations. Eat on Wednesday to help bring business from advertising. The cottons also ward off poverty, so eat anytime you feel in financial danger or hang and dry Okra flowers or fruit over the hearth to protect from financial disaster.
Finally, as I mentioned, the amazing Okra also has some special "tantric" properties. Eat pickled okra to last longer in bed. Cook okra with stewed tomatoes on a full moon and feed to a lover to keep him/her faithful and to give a "sticktuitiveness" to the relationship. It can also be eaten after a miscarriage to insure that the next pregnancy will stick and the woman will safely carry to full term. In this case, the okra should be sliced so the seeds are exposed, lightly sauteed with olive oil or butter and sea salt and shared by the couple on a new moon.

QUICK FIX

Dear Lexa,

First of all, I just want to say that I love your work. I find it to be a lovely and fresh approach to magick. Okay on to my concern. I have worked in my family business my whole life (I am 24 so it's not that long.). However I have to break free from it for various reasons and I am having a hard time due to a lot of anxiety (to the point of mild to moderate panic attacks.) Therapy is not working fast enough for me and I need to break free and find my own path but knowing what to do with my life is all very confusing. I do have a bachelors degree so I hope that it gives me more options. Do you have a spell to break free and find my own path as quickly as possible? Again thanks for your writings you are absolutely great.

Thanks for your compliments but you barely leave breathing room after saying such nice things. Why the rush? And why is it that so many people imagine that witchcraft offers the quick fix solution? It must be all those years of Samantha Stevens just twitching her nose and setting everything a right. A bachelors degree does not provide very many options in today's world. You may want to consider specializing in some field and that will take time. For a situation such as yours, this is what I would recommend:

• Stay in Therapy. Maybe work with medication to get those panic attacks under control.

• See a good psychic and astrologer for a thorough consultation to uncover your hidden potential and life path.

• It is important to clarify that magick is the spiritual element to accompany your physical and emotional work. A spell is not enough in and of itself unless you are doing other things to increase your sphere of availability and influence. I highly recommend my book PowerSpells. It is chock full of rituals for career, business, removing blocks, making good decisions, and revealing professional paths. There are also several spells for fast luck included. It is important to understand that fast luck spells usually bring immediate (and often temporary) remedies that do not solve the long term issues.

• Consider going to graduate school.

• Take up meditation. Life's problems and challenges can not be worked out 'overnight'.

• Allow yourself to enjoy the process and the journey. Believe me, you will 'arrive' soon enough! I have no doubt you will be terrific once you get where you want to be, but why not have some fun along the way?! For the most part, how you handle your process, will determine what kind of outcome you acheive. A hurried solution may bring you overnight success that quickly dissolves. I don't think that's what you want in the long run.

Lucky Bath

Dear Lady Venus,

First I would like to congratulate you on the blog review. Very cool!!

I just did the lucky money bath and I was wondering if using bath stuff that contain the ingredients would work as well. For example bath and body works had a bath gel that is white tea ginger, then David (something) has a line that is a cinnamon bath soak, and then I know there is a basil and lemon or thyme bath gel. If I combined all 3 in a bath would that work as well? I just thought it would be good if I could stay in the bath a little longer, I am afraid the fresh ingredients would irritate my skin?

P.S I am a Christian and I am not Wiccan but totally love your stuff. For anyone out there that thinks Wiccans are evil, let me tell you there is evil everywhere. I have seen so many people in the church, praising God and talking about all this good stuff, but then I see how they treated people and how they would stab them in the back or cause them pain and talk bad to them. It doesn't matter what you believe in, it matter how you use your energy and what is in your heart. I love God and Jesus and I love the Earth, Moon, Stars and Planets too and I am not afraid to say I believe in both. If good is in your heart then, that is what you will project to yourself and others.

Absolutely, you can use those wonderful bath products for your magickal ingredients and soak your troubles away (but make sure to get out of the tub before your skin crinkles like a prune!) The fact that you are relaxed and letting go of your worries will make the money magick even more powerful and effective. The original spell calls for ginger, cinnamon, and basil - but if you add lemon, it will help clear your financial path. If you add thyme, it will increase your awareness as to where your best financial interests lie. When I heard you opened the "witch doctor is in" blog, I had to make an entry, and ask a question. I didn’t have one of my own so I ask in the name of my good friend. If it's o.k with you …

I know that in magick what you put in, is what you get as an outcome. But for years my dear friend tried different types of money magick, put all of his soul in it, and still he can only manifest small amounts of money (not enough to cover his bills) or he manifest food instead of the money (suddenly everybody gives him food or invite him to dinners).

Normally most of his spells work pretty fine, but when it comes to money, it's like the gods can't find any resources to bring him money, so they offer the next best thing which is –free dinners :) LOL How come he can't manifest money to pay his bills and ECT?? I know that he really does his best, how come his subconscious doesn't get the right message? If there's anyone who can answer it it's you!

thanks for your question, it is a good one. There was a wonderful essay written online by Alex Sumner in the Journal of the Western Mystery Tradition that analyzes Money Magick. I suggest your friend give it a read. My question is this - does he put in equal hours and equal heart and soul into finding a job to earn money? A big factor in working money spells or any other spell for that matter is our sphere of influence. I have written about this in several of my books. Here's a great example of how the sphere works - If I do a spell to get a job, but I lock myself in my house and shut off the phone, then I have made my sphere very small. Someone literally would have to break down my door and offer me a job. That is not very likely to happen. If however, I do my spell, and not only answer my phone, but make some calls and leave my home to go on job interviews - then I greatly increase my sphere of influence and therefore my likelihood of finding a job.

Yes, this all sounds very practical and some of you readers may be asking, "ha, why bother to do magick? Just go out and look for a job for gosh sakes!" You have a point, but on the other hand, I know plenty of people who put in 99 - even 100% reality effort but 0% spiritual effort, and they also have no success. There must be a balance between real life action and magickal or spiritual work. So, I am wondering how your friend might broaden his sphere.

Another factor may be that his path is blocked. When spells don't work, or even sometimes before we even begin work, we should do a clearing or uncrossing spell to remove roadblocks.

Finally, I do believe that we all have our own special karma or luck. Maybe his is not with money magick. We had a customer many moons ago in Ye Old Occult Shop where I used to work and the staff lovingly (and unlovingly) referred to her as Ugamuggah. Ugamuggah used to do incredible amounts of money and gambling magick. Several times, she won and then lost tens of thousands of dollars at the track. All in one afternoon. A few times, she won big in the lotto and Atlantic City but her apartment was broken into and the money stolen before she could put it in the bank. Finally, Ugamuggah got wise. She thought about what she wanted the money for. Then she did a spell to get a fabulous new wardrobe. The result was she was given sample clothes (all in her size) right off the runway after Fashion Week ended. Don't ask me how she swung this, but she did. She also did a fast luck house blessing spell and got an amazing and spacious rent stabilized apartment that others had to wait years for. Not only that, but she furnished her entire apartment for free from a sample showroom of a famous textile designer after a show closed. See Ugamuggah figured out where her talent and fortune lay and played it to the max. I wonder what your friend would manifest if he actually magicked for a feast! Well, lots of food for thought...

To place a thought in another person's mind, burn a candle in the shape of a skull and write key words relating to the thought you want to place across the forehead. You must also carve the name and astrological sign of the individual you want to influence across the base or neck of the candle. (eg: Mike Aquarius) You should begin burning on a new moon for nine minutes a night and repeat every night until the Full Moon when the candle should be burned to completion. It may take up to nine complete candles to make sure your point gets across. The skull candles can be found in traditional occult shops. Of course, you could also opt to invite the one you want to influence out for a coffee and just say Hey Mike, I have an idea...

As for lottery spells, they're a dollar a dozen. I even published a few good ones in Easy Enchantments. The trick with these spells is that they must be repeated daily or weekly just like you play the lottery. You must also realize that your sphere of influence is not very wide with gambling in general but it gets specifically narrower with lotto. The sphere refers to the probability factor of you winning. The problem with lotteries is that you have millions of people wishing, hoping, and praying, and magicking to win. Why should your magick or prayer be chosen over others? That's why, you need to combine lottery spells with luck and success spells. You need to work as much magick as you can and do it on a regular and continual basis. It's like a friend of mine who was looking for a wealthy husband often said: marrying money is a FULL TIME JOB. Here are a few items to incorporate for lottery luck and success. The color RED - this could be in the form of a candle or a mojo bag filled with herbs. Bay leaves and nutmeg can be rubbed into the candle or added to the bag. Eating watermelon, strawberry, and vanilla ice cream is alleged to greatly increase winning at games of chance. Good luck Prichard!

Finally, any magick done which involves manipulating the will of another (such as your thought influencing spell) would technically be considered "black" magick. Yes, that's right, even if I wanted to place a thought in Mike's mind to take better care of himself, technically, that is manipulative magick. Obviously, if I wanted to influence Mike to do harm to himself or others, that would be "black" magick. "White" magick is non manipulative and is always conscious of the Wiccan creed DO WHAT YE WILL AND HARM NONE.

It is also important to note the historical and racial context of the terms BLACK AND WHITE. Originally, the Church Fathers referred to rites from the African religion of Voodoo or Ife (meaning Life) as "black" or devil's magick. Many of the ancient gods and goddesses were demonized in the Bible in order to move monotheism and the patriarchy into it's hierarchical position. Ha, talk about a powerful placing of thoughts in other people's minds! These ideas still live in the collective consciousness even though the "black" magick contains many life and love affirming principles. Because of this history, many prefer to use the terms good or evil instead of black and white.
